Julie Cross RI ASWA is an elected member of the prestigious Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and also an Associate member of the Society of Women Artists.  Fascinated by the human form, with a particular focus on the cultural representation of women, she paints expressive figures and enigmatic portraits.  Her work is characterised by rich optical textures and glorious, glowing colour, juxtaposed with opaque abstract elements.
